Over all this is a very good "back up" radio to use when power is out or when camping, etc. There is an attached electric cord tucked away in the battery compartment that is very nice to have when using the radio at home.
AM reception is exceptionally good in comparison with other radios we've tried. We live in the mountains and reception has been very marginal using other radios.
Very nice little radio. FM is very acceptable and the sound quality is very good.
This Sony is very clear. The weather radio works very well.
There is a TV audio mode, but it does not function since television has gone digital. We're very pleased with this purchase.
i have beat, dropped and abused this little pit bull. great reception, battery life is forever. the antenna broke off long ago but still works good. highly recommend
I live in a house without television and needed to be able to listen to some TV over the radio. It's light, portable, and gets a nice NPR signal, even with the antennae down.I wrote the seller, asking for a price adjustment, considering that it is not a TV signal receptor, as was advertised. This little Sony was expensive, but worth it for the television channels. But post digital TV, this little box gets ZERO in terms of TV signal, and I am not happy about that at all, considering I paid $135.00 to have it.That said, the sound is excellent. But, of course, I've heard nothing from them.So, do I send it back for full refund. Still Considering It, in Virginia
There was no mention in the product description when I made the purchase that due to the change in tv signals from analog to digital the tv band is useless. I have titled this as an am/fm radio and NOT tv band. This is a fine SONY product as far as the am/fm is concerned, but I was looking for the tv band. Buyer beware. To prospective buyers, don't expect tv audio reception from this or any "tv band" unit.
Except for one which came in with lots of problems, and could not understand what was being sad. I bought the item to receive local free tv broadcasts. Unfortunately this unit did not receive any station. I live in Chicago and I am about 14 miles from the sending tv signals. Inadequate unit for using it to receive free tv signals.
